Laurus nobilis plants

Edible bay laurel is an evergreen shrub with upright, dense branches, native to the Mediterranean region. Here it has so far been grown as a potted plant, but given our climate it can overwinter outdoors as well, protected from frost. Its leaves are glossy and leathery, with wavy edges. Its small yellow flowers are star-shaped and bloom in June-July. Its height is 1-1.5m. It requires medium light, a warm, sunny or partially shaded spot, and well-structured soil rich in nutrients. Its water needs are medium. Its leaves can be picked throughout the year and are used in a variety of dishes. It can be planted in pots or outdoors in a sheltered spot.
